Synopsis:

In high school, the second-bravest thing Zhou Anran ever did was, on a day when Chen Luobai seemed unhappy, she secretly placed two lemon soda candies into his desk.

Back then, he was the proud son of heaven, adored by everyone.

She was just an ordinary classmate whose name he couldn’t even remember.

Later, they met again in university. Zhou Anran, who'd fought her way into the top university, was still just as inconspicuous in a sea of academic prodigies. While Chen Luobai instantly became the centre of attention the moment he arrived.

Zhou Anran figured that was the end of it. Their paths wouldn't cross again.

Then, one elective class, Chen Luobai placed two of the familiar lemon soda candies on her desk.

“Have you tried this candy?” He seemed to ask casually.

Zhou Anran’s heart jumped, she lowered her head, not answering the question.

Chen Luobai continued, “I came to know this candy from someone in high school who secretly left two pieces on my desk. Everyone else slipped love letters into my desk. This person just put two candies in there. But—"

He paused.

Zhou Anran turned her head before she could stop herself. Her gaze landed directly in his smiling, focused eyes. He was staring at her like he meant something by it.

“It’s pretty sweet.”

The same words he would say on the night he kissed her for the first time.
